A Life in Colour | Jamie Boyd’s Impressionist Journey

A major exhibition of new paintings by Jamie Boyd will be showcased at Red Hill Gallery from 11 October 2025 – 26 October 2025.

Jamie Boyd stands as the most significant living heir to the Boyd artistic lineage, yet his work transcends mere legacy having achieved international success and critical acclaim in his own right.

Jamie Boyd Artist in Landscape – 54557 Oil on canvas 60cm x 50cm $7000

When once asked about his connection with the Boyd dynasty Jamie said,

“I think that you want acceptability, not necessarily the paintings to be accepted but as a person. It’s all to do with your life and how you relate to other people.” – Jamie Boyd speaking on Today Tonight

In each canvas Jamie forges a new dialogue between colour, light and form. His brushstrokes move freely — in oils, pastels and mixed media.

Having begun painting full time as a teenager and training at the Central School of Art & Design in London, he has now exhibited widely in Australia, Europe and the Netherlands. Public collections of his work include the National Gallery of Victoria, Artbank and the Bundanon Trust.

Now is your chance to meet the artist himself at 2pm on Saturday 11 October at Red Hill Gallery, 61 Musgrave Rd, Red Hill, Brisbane. Hear first-hand about his inspiration for his latest artworks and learn how Jamie is continuing the Boyd legacy in the art world.
