{"id":742,"date":"2012-06-07T11:49:53","date_gmt":"2012-06-07T01:49:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.artchat.com.au\/?p=742"},"modified":"2012-06-15T10:48:07","modified_gmt":"2012-06-15T00:48:07","slug":"nathaniel-boyd-artist-internationally-recognised-classical-cellist","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.artchat.com.au\/?p=742","title":{"rendered":"Nathaniel Boyd &#8211; Artist &#038; internationally recognised classical cellist"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb_share_1\" style=\"float: right; margin-left: 10px;\"><a name=\"fb_share\" type=\"icon_link\" share_url=\"https:\/\/www.artchat.com.au\/?p=742\" href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/sharer.php\">Share<\/a><\/div><div><script src=\"http:\/\/static.ak.fbcdn.net\/connect.php\/js\/FB.Share\" type=\"text\/javascript\"><\/script><\/div><p>The youngest son of the artist <a href=\"http:\/\/www.redhillgallery.com.au\/JamieBoyd2012.html\" target=\"_blank\">Jamie Boyd<\/a>, Nathaniel belongs to the distinguished Boyd artistic dynasty that began in 1886.\u00a0 Tutored by his father Jamie Boyd, an acknowledged master colourist, Nathaniel is equally talented across a wide variety of mediums, sculpture, gouache, pastel and oil on canvas and board.<\/p>\n<p>Nathaniel draws artistic inspiration from the cityscapes and landscapes he encounters on his travels around the world.\u00a0 Like his father <a href=\"http:\/\/www.redhillgallery.com.au\/JamieBoyd.html\" target=\"_blank\">Jamie Boyd<\/a> and his grand-father <a href=\"http:\/\/www.redhillgallery.com.au\/ArthurBoyd2012.html\" target=\"_blank\">Arthur Boyd<\/a>, Nathaniel also spends time in Bundanon by the Shoalhaven River where he is inspired by the dramatic landscape.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.redhillgallery.com.au\/NathanielBoyd2012.html\" target=\"_blank\">Nathaniel is currently part of\u00a0the Boyd Dynasty Exhibition &#8211; June 2012 &#8211; at Red Hill Gallery.<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artchat.com.au\/?attachment_id=762\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-762\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-762\" title=\"Nathaniel Boyd\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artchat.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/NateBoyd2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"389\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.artchat.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/NateBoyd2.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.artchat.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/NateBoyd2-300x145.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a>The very talented Nathaniel also enjoys an international reputation as a classical cellist, performing at the world&#8217;s most prestigious venues.\u00a0 He is a passionate and dedicated musician who combines a busy chamber music career with frequent solo engagements. He studied at the Junior Guildhall and the Royal Northern College of Music with Hannah Roberts and Ralph Kirshbaum, graduating in June 2005 with First Class Honours, a PPRNCM (Distinction) and the Leonard Rose Prize.<\/p>\n<p>He went on to Postgraduate study at the RNCM and recently graduated with a starred first in performance.\u00a0 Nathaniel has participated in master classes with Mstislav Rostropovich and Bernard Greenhouse amongst others.
